We now offer 3 different levels of Front Short Stroke Shocks to fit your budget and specific driving needs!
Now….what’s the difference in these 3 damper choices? I’m sure it can seem a bit confusing with so many options. Let’s break it down!
KYB AGX (red dampers): Our tried and true choice for 20 years. These have never done us wrong. They have a great range of adjustable damping from comfort to race and have proven to be incredibly durable and versatile. Super easy to adjust, just reach under the car, and turn the knob from 1 to 8. If you are looking for something that will go from street to sport to race and drift, these will do the trick. These units were on the T3 AE86 when Keiichi Tsuchiya drove it at Horse Thief Mile. We’ve got Hot Version video proof that these get the job done! Best paired with spring rates from 200lb to 400lb.
KONI Sport Shocks are designed for drivers looking for a sporty driving experience. These products focus on exceptional road-holding combined with an acceptable level of comfort. KONI Sport characteristics include responsive steering, reduced body-roll and limited body movements. Many Sport shocks are externally adjustable shock absorbers, making fine tuning even easier. We've found that KONI Sport Shocks work best for light cars and spring rates between 175-350lbs.
KONI Race Shocks Single Adjustable The RACE series dampers are designed as a bolt in application for those running either in high performance driving events, road racing or autocross. They are externally adjustable in rebound damping and can be adjusted on the car. They are designed to work with the extreme high performance spring rates up to 1000 lbs. Also, these shocks have been shortened to give additional travel in the suspension to work with the lowered ride heights that these cars are running. This gives the cars additional travel and keeps the car from bottoming out. We have found these work best for motorsport application and extremely low cars.
All of these shocks come with newer style coarse thread gland nuts. AE86 and other Toyotas will require our Standard Gland Nuts if you need replacements for them.
