The macpherson front suspension on a Datsun 240z, 260z and 280z is known for creating bumpsteer as you lower the car. Our new Track Spec Outer Tie Rods allow you to dial back this bumpsteer by dropping the Outer Tie Rod's pick up point! The goal is to have your lower control arms and tie rods parallel when your Z is on the ground!
Our Outer Tie Rods are created from billet aluminum and use a 3/4 shank rod end. The the tapered joint pin and spacers are machined from stainless steel. They are extremely strong and dependable. Sticky tires and insane g-force have nothing on these!
We offer the outer tie rods in two different configurations. Originally the inner tie rods on the 240Z used a right hand thread on one side, and a left hand thread on the other side. Some time in the 80's Nissan discontinued the left handed thread inner tie rod, so any replacements were made by changing the inner and outer tie rod to right hand thread.
Currently the only replacement inner tie rods available are in a right hand thread.
What this means for you:
If you have original inner tie rods, choose the Right/Left hand option below.
If you have new inner tie rods, or tie rods that have been changed since the 80's then choose Right/Right below.
Bumpsteer Adjustable Hardware is available by itself for updating our High Clearance Outer Tie Rods.
